Japanese: センネンボク(千年木) - センネンボク（英語表記）Cordyline terminalis Kunth

An evergreen shrub of the Agavaceae family, cultivated and distributed widely in Malaysia, Polynesia, northeastern Australia, etc. In Hawaii, it is used as a waist belt for hula dancing. There are many variations, and those with different leaf colors and shapes are cultivated as ornamental plants. Since the seedling stage is appreciated, the flowers are rarely seen. Aichiaka (cv. Aichiaka) (illustration), which has copper-green color with pink to reddish purple spots, is hardy and widely spread. Red Edge (cv. Red Edge), which has small, dense leaves and dark green color with pink to reddish purple spots, is also popular as a miniature species.

リュウゼツラン科の常緑低木で，マレーシア，ポリネシア，オーストラリア北東部などに広く栽培分布する。ハワイなどで，フラダンスの腰みのに用いられる。ひじょうに変異が多く，葉の色，形の変化したものが観葉鉢物として栽培される。幼苗期を観賞するので，花を見ることはあまりない。銅緑色にピンクから赤紫色の斑（ふ）が入るアイチアカ(愛知赤)cv.Aichiaka（イラスト）はじょうぶで，よく普及している。葉が小さく，密生し，濃緑色にピンク～赤紫色の斑が入るレッド･エッジcv.Red Edgeもミニチュア種として人気がある。
