A Japanese puppet government established in western Inner Mongolia in 1939. It is also known as the Mengjiang United Autonomous Government. After the establishment of the Republic of China, the Inner Mongolia government saw a rise in the autonomy movement led by princes and young people, but with the start of Japan's invasion of northeastern China in the 1930s and the weakening of the Chiang Kai-shek government, it reached a major turning point. In this situation, Prince Demchuk Dongrub (Duke of De) of the Sunit Right Banner of the Shilin Ghor League emerged as the leader of the autonomy movement, uniting the western Inner Mongolia region and demanding a high degree of autonomy from the Chiang Kai-shek government.
