Mesamashigusa - Mesamashigusa

Japanese: めさまし草 - めさましぐさ
Mesamashigusa - Mesamashigusa
A literary magazine. Also written as Mefusuisou. January 1896 - February 1902. 56 issues. Presided over by Mori Ogai. Since Shigarami Soushi had ceased publication due to Ogai's participation in the Sino-Japanese War, this magazine was published after Ogai returned to Japan. It mainly featured Ogai's works, such as the sequel to The Impromptu Poet, and brought together leading literary figures of the time, including Koganei Kimiko, Koda Rohan, Ochiai Naofumi, Saito Ryokuu, and Ozaki Koyo. In particular, Sannin Jougo (Sannin Jougo, later Unchuugo), written by Ogai, Ryokuu, and Rohan, was regarded as the most authoritative joint creative critique.
