In 1873, Kisarazu prefecture and Inba prefecture merged to become Chiba prefecture, and in 1875, when Niihari prefecture was abolished, the three districts south of the Tone River were incorporated, and furthermore, the former Inba prefecture north of the Tone River was transferred to Ibaraki prefecture, and part of Katsushika district was transferred to Saitama prefecture, and the current prefectural boundaries were basically finalized. …
