Bad Godesberg Programme

This is the basic platform of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), adopted at the party conference in Bad Godesberg, a suburb of Bonn, in 1959, and is still valid today. It was the first basic platform since the end of the war, and in theory it attempted to transform the party from a class party to a national party. It is said to be a complete break from the tradition of the Erfurt Platform (1891), which was strongly influenced by Marxism. The ideas that run through this platform can be summarized into four points. The first is the idea that the working class should be integrated into the democratic state as citizens and share in state decision-making.

1959年にボン郊外のバート･ゴーデスベルクBad Godesberg党大会で採択されたドイツ社会民主党(SPD)の基本綱領で，今日でも有効である。戦後初の基本綱領で，これをもって理論上も，階級政党から国民政党への転換が図られた。マルクス主義の強い影響を受けたエルフルト綱領(1891)の伝統からの完全な決別だといわれている。この綱領を貫く思想は四つに集約される。第1は労働者階級が市民として民主国家に統合され，国家の決定に共同参加していくという思想である。
