A Muromachi period military chronicle on the subject of the Meitoku Rebellion (1391). Usually three volumes. It was completed less than a year after the rebellion. The entry for July 3, 1416 in the Kanmon Gyoki describes the reality of the stories that were enjoyed as tales told by storyteller monks. It describes the events from the Yamana clan's uprising to their downfall, and ends by celebrating the calming of the situation. Since it criticizes the rebellion and regards the existence of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu as absolute, the author is said to have been a close aide to the Shogun, and there is also a theory that the sad story of the Yamana clan's downfall may have involved a Jishu monk. This is a fine work that appeared after the Taiheiki and marked a turning point in later military chronicles that began to record battles. It is included in the battle section of Gunsho Ruiju.
