Ming-dao-qian (English spelling)

A type of currency. It was circulated mainly in Yan during the Warring States period in China. It is a copper coin in the shape of a knife, about 15 cm long, with the character "Ming" cast in relief. Many of them have been excavated in Korea along with iron and bronze artifacts in the mountainous areas north of the Taedong River, and are considered to be evidence of the influx of metal civilization from the continent around the 3rd century BCE. 貨幣の一種。中国の戦国時代におもに燕で流通した。長さ 15cmほどの刀子形の銅銭で，「明」の文字が陽鋳してある。朝鮮では多く大同江以北の山間部から鉄器や青銅器とともに出土し，前3世紀頃における大陸からの金属文明の流入を示す資料とされる。
