Mureş (river) (English spelling)

Japanese: ムレシュ[川]（英語表記）Mureş

A tributary of the Tisza that flows through Romania and Hungary. In Hungarian it is called Maros. Known since ancient times, its ancient name was Maris. With a total length of 766 km, it is the largest of the Tisza tributaries, of which 718 km flow within Romania. Its source is at an altitude of 850 m in the village of Bošlaveni in the Đurđev Basin in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains. It flows through the Topolica Deda Gorge and is rapid up to Tárgu Mureș, but when it enters the Transylvanian Basin, its flow slows down and meanders, forming marshes.

ルーマニアとハンガリーを流れるティサ川の支流。ハンガリー語でマロシュMaros川。古代から知られた川で，古名をマリスMaris川という。全長766kmで，ティサ川支流中，最大の川であり，うち718kmはルーマニア領内を流れる。源流は東カルパチ山脈中のジュルジェウ盆地のボシュラベニ村の標高850mの地点である。トポリツァ･デダ峡谷を経て，トゥルグ･ムレシュまで急流をなすが，トランシルバニア盆地に入ると，流れは緩やかになり，湿地をつくりながら蛇行する。
