…German genetic psychiatrist. Born in Switzerland, he studied medicine and genetics at universities throughout Europe, and in 1907 studied under Kraepelin at the University of Munich. In 1909, he qualified as a professor with a thesis on “Mental Disorders in Life Prisoners.”
