[Boundary Layer Control Device]
This device blows air from inside the wing to give momentum to areas where the airflow (boundary layer) on the surface of the wing is likely to separate, preventing the separation. Blowing air from a simple flap on the trailing edge or from the bend in a leading edge flap has the effect of preventing the airflow from separating, allowing the flap angle to be increased and C _{L max} to be increased.
