A culture that existed around 500 B.C. in North America, mainly in the Ohio River basin. Corn cultivation was an important livelihood, and to some extent class differentiation was based on this. Tombs were built in fairly large fiefs, but there were some variations depending on the region. Pottery was made and textiles were woven. It is thought that many of these living techniques were brought over from surrounding areas.
