Midway [Islands] - Midway
A group of islands in the central North Pacific Ocean, consisting of an atoll at the western end of the Hawaiian Islands and two small islands within the reef. A key port under the direct control of the US Navy. A key location on the air route. American Brooks reached it in 1859, and it has been US territory since 1867. The Battle of Midway took place here in 1942. 5.18km 2 .
