An art magazine first published by Oshita Tojiro in July 1905. "Mizue" means "water painting," and initially aimed to popularize watercolor painting, but from the end of the Taisho period, it gradually came to focus on modern painting. In 1966, the wartime regime was strengthened and restrictions on art magazines were imposed, so the magazine changed its title to "Shin Bijutsu," but in January 1968, due to the second round of publishing restrictions, it was published as "Bijutsu." In September 1971, the name was changed back to "Mizue." It ceased publication in 1992. As one of Japan's leading art magazines, it made a great contribution to the enlightenment and popularization of art.
