Prosodie occupies the majority of what is called art poétique, and in extreme cases, a formal understanding has been made that a poem can be recognized as such as long as it follows the rules of prosodie, no matter how dry its content may be. Since the early modern period, with the development of print culture, poetry has become more often read silently than recited, while in modern times, prose poetry has appeared and an increasing number of poets have sought to break away from the one-sided regularity of prosody, but prosody has not yet been forgotten or disappeared. ...
