Manba [town] - Manba
An old town in Tano County, southwestern Gunma Prefecture. It occupies the mountainous area in the middle reaches of the Kanna River. The main settlement was a tenryo during the Edo period, and was known as Shimoyamago along with seven surrounding villages. The Mikabo Super Forest Road runs through the northern end of the town. The town produces konjac and shiitake mushrooms. In April 2003, it merged with Nakazato Village to form Kanna Town. 62.61 km2 . 2,269 people (2000).

群馬県南西部,多野郡の旧町。神流(かんな)川中流域の山地を占める。主集落は江戸時代天領で,周辺7ヵ村とともに下山郷といわれていた。町北端に御荷鉾(みかぼ)スーパー林道が通じる。コンニャク,シイタケを産する。2003年4月,中里村と合併して神流町となる。62.61km2。2269人(2000)。
