Shigemasa Ohashi

Born in 1621 (Genna 4). In 1630 (Kan'ei 11), he succeeded the family headship and became a shogunate inspector. He learned calligraphy from his father Shigeyasu and Prince Sonjun of Shoren-in Temple, and popularized it under the name Ohashi-ryu. He also wrote models for the Shoguns Tokugawa Iemitsu and Ietsuna. He passed away on June 30th (Kanbun 12), leap year. He was 55 years old. He was known by the names Kosaburo and Chozaemon.
