A feudal lord in the early modern period. He is said to have lived in Koide, Ina County, Shinano Province, where he adopted this surname. Later, he moved to Nakamura, Aichi County, Owari Province, and changed his surname to Koide. In 1585 (Tensho 13), Hidemasa became the lord of Kishiwada Castle in Izumi Province. During the Battle of Sekigahara, his eldest son Yoshimasa (lord of Izushi Castle in Tajima Province) and his second son Hideie were divided between the western and eastern armies, but both were granted their former territories after the war. Yoshimasa moved to Kishiwada after his father's death, but in 1619 (Genwa 5), his eldest son Yoshifusa was transferred to Izushi (50,000 koku), until his fief became extinct in 1696 (Genroku 9). Yoshihide's younger brother Yoshichika was given a fief of 30,000 koku in Tanba Sonobe. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
