[1] The name of a Gagaku piece. A piece in the Togaku and Heichou styles. It is also performed in Bugaku. In the Tairamai on the left, four dancers, and occasionally six, dance in layered costumes. [1] 雅楽の曲名。唐楽、平調の曲。舞楽でも演奏される。左の平舞で舞人は四人、まれには六人で襲(かさね)装束を着けて舞う。祝賀の宴に用いられた。右舞の延喜楽と共に平舞の代表的なものである。ばんざいらく。ばんぜいらく。まざいらく。鳥歌万歳楽。※宇津保（970‐999頃）俊蔭「からうじて、万歳楽、声ほのかに掻きならして、弾くときに」[2] 〘名〙① 「とうか（踏歌）」の異称。〔釈日本紀（1274‐1301）〕② ＝まんざい（万歳）②※塵塚物語（1552）二「いかにも長袖にて大紋のかたびらをめし、御手には鼓をもたせたまひ〈略〉扨は子細なき万歳楽なり」[3] 〘感動〙危険な時や驚いた時などに唱える厄(やく)よけのことば。多くは、重ねて用いる。くわばらくわばら。※談義本・教訓雑長持（1752）四「縄からげのぶらぶらする棚へ上げられ、身動しする度に、万歳楽(マンザイラク)、世なをし世なをし」
