Assembly bell - Shuesho

Japanese:
Assembly bell - Shuesho
Also called "Shuenokane." A term used in Buddhist ceremonies. A gathering refers to the gathering of monks at a designated place prior to a ceremony, and a gathering bell refers to the striking of a kansho (half bell, small bell) to announce this. The way the kansho is struck varies depending on the sect, but in Shingon Buddhism, for example, it is called "Santsu Sange," which means striking the bell slowly and strongly several times at first, gradually getting faster and softer, and repeating this three times, before finally striking it loudly three times. Japanese:
