〘名〙① (江戸時代、延宝（一六七三‐八一）の頃、大坂にいた力持の乞食の名から) 手品や曲芸をし、滑稽な身振や口上で人を笑わせて銭を乞うた大道芸人。豆蔵坊主。〔随筆・斎諧俗談（1758）〕② おしゃべりな人をののしっていう語。まめ。※雑俳・さくら鯛（1823‐24）二「口に出来るほどしゃべるから豆蔵」③ きわめて背の低い者。小人。一寸法師。※浮世草子・西鶴名残の友（1699）四「大女房まめ蔵両頭の亀」④ 釣合い人形。紙人形に細い竹をつけ、両端に重りをつけて平衡を保つようにしたもの。与次郎人形。※雑俳・三また竹（1730‐36頃）「見廻して狸の鼻に豆蔵置く」⑤ 紋所の名。④の形を図案化したもの。二つ豆蔵菱、三つ豆蔵など。
