A warm current that flows out of the Tsugaru Strait into the Pacific Ocean. It is also called the Tsugaru Warm Current. It is a branch of the Tsushima Current that flows north along the coast of the Sea of Japan, and the warm current is about 200m thick. Cold water from the Oyashio Current flows in underneath. The water temperature is over 7°C even in winter and about 22°C in summer. The salinity is over 33.9‰ in the center, and the flow speed is 1 to 2 knots. 津軽海峡から太平洋へ流れ出る暖流。津軽暖流ともいう。日本海沿岸を北上する対馬海流の枝分れで,暖流の厚さは 200mぐらい。下に親潮系の冷水が入り込んでいる。水温は冬でも7℃以上,夏は 22℃ぐらい。塩分は中心部で 33.9‰以上,流速は1~2ノット。
