A town in Haga County in southeastern Tochigi Prefecture. It is at the western foot of the Yamizo Mountains and borders the eastern side of Moka City. The main settlement was the castle town of the medieval Mashiko clan, and the Moka Railway runs through it. Rice, tobacco, and greenhouse gardening are practiced, and Mashiko pottery is a specialty of the town. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 89.40 km2 .
