Adenosine triphosphatase

EC 3.6.1.3. Also known as ATPase. An enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the terminal phosphate group of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to produce adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and inorganic phosphate.

The bond that is hydrolyzed is a high-energy phosphate bond, and its decomposition reduces the free energy by 33.5 kJ mol ^-1 . Examples include myosin ATPase, which is involved in muscle contraction, monovalent or divalent metal ion-dependent ATPase, which is involved in active transport in biological membranes, and ATPase present in the inner membrane of mitochondria. It is an essential enzyme for converting the energy obtained by hydrolyzing ATP into mechanical and electrical energy for muscle contraction, active transport, etc. ATPase, which is involved in the active transport of ions through membranes, requires lipids to be active, and is classified according to the type of ion required for activation, i.e., the type of ion transported, such as Na ⁺ -K ⁺ , Mg ²⁺ , and Ca ²⁺ -ATPase. EC 3.6.1.3．ATPアーゼともいう．アデノシン三リン酸(ATP)の末端のリン酸基を加水分解し，アデノシン二リン酸(ADP)と無機リン酸にする反応を触媒する酵素．

加水分解される結合は高エネルギーリン酸結合で，分解によって33.5 kJ mol^－1 の自由エネルギーが減少する．筋収縮に関与するミオシンATPアーゼ，生体膜の能動輸送に関与する一価または二価金属イオン依存性ATPアーゼ，ミトコンドリアの内膜に存在するATPアーゼなどがある．ATPを加水分解することによって得られるエネルギーを筋収縮，能動輸送などの機械的・電気的エネルギーに変換するのに不可欠の酵素である．膜を介するイオンの能動輸送に関与するATPアーゼは脂質が活性発現に重要で，Na^＋-K^＋，Mg^2＋，Ca^2＋-ATPアーゼなど活性化に必要なイオンの種類，すなわち，輸送されるイオンの種類によって分類される．[CAS 9000-83-3]
