(1) A mountain in the eastern Mikawa region of Aichi Prefecture. It is 789 meters above sea level and is composed of Ryoke gneiss and mica schist. At the foot of the mountain, in Toyokawa City, is Toga Shrine, the Ichinomiya of Mikawa Province, and at the summit is the inner shrine and Iwakura (Kunimi Rock). It is part of Hongu-san Prefectural Natural Park, and the Hongu-san Skyline runs through it. (2) Hongu-san (293 meters), located in the southern part of Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, faces Owari Fuji (275 meters), and is famous for the Ishiage Festival, which originates from a story of a comparison of heights.
