A former town in Higashimuro District, southeastern Wakayama Prefecture. Occupying the mountainous area downstream of the Totsukawa River, the town is primarily involved in forestry. Hongu, the town in the center, is a torii-mae town of Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine (one of the Kumano Sanzan shrines). Nearby are the hot springs of Yunomine and Kawayu, and the town is part of Yoshino-Kumano National Park. Access by bus from Shingu City. In May 2005, the town was incorporated into Tanabe City along with Nakaheji Town and Oto Village in Nishimuro District, and Ryujin Village in Hidaka District. Area: 204.06 km2 . Population: 3,933 (2003).

Motomiya [town] [Motomiya]

A former town in Adachi County, central Fukushima Prefecture. It lies from the northern end of the Koriyama Basin to the hills in its northwest. The main settlement developed as a post town on the Oshu Kaido road, and is served by the Tohoku Main Line, Tohoku Expressway, and Ban'etsu Expressway, making it the commercial center of the surrounding rural areas. It is within the commuting area of ​​Koriyama City, and factories have also set up there. In January 2007, it merged with Shirasawa Village in Adachi County to form Motomiya City. 39.54 km2 . Population: 22,180 (2005).

本宮[町]【もとみや】

福島県中部,安達郡の旧町。郡山盆地北端からその北西部の丘陵地にかけてある。主集落は奥州街道の宿場町として発達,東北本線,東北自動車道,磐越自動車道が通じ,付近農村の商業中心をなす。郡山市の通勤圏に含まれ,工場も進出している。2007年1月,安達郡白沢村と合併し,本宮市となる。39.54km2。2万2180人(2005)。
