Japanese: 牛津[町] - うしづ

An old town in Ogi County in central Saga Prefecture. It occupies the Saga Plain in the Ushizu River basin, a tributary of the Rokkaku River, and is covered with rice fields. The central settlement has been a river port since the Nara period, and in the Edo period it was a market town along the Nagasaki Road. It produces rice, wheat, and mandarin oranges, and also has pharmaceutical and electrical industries. The Nagasaki Main Line runs through it. In March 2005 it merged with Ogi Town, Mikazuki Town, and Ashikari Town in Ogi County to become a city, Ogi City. ^{13.26 km2} . Population: 10,684 (2003).

佐賀県中部，小城(おぎ)郡の旧町。六角川支流の牛津川流域の佐賀平野を占め，水田が開ける。中心集落は奈良時代からの河港で，江戸時代は長崎路沿いの市場町であった。米，麦，ミカンを産し，製薬，電機などの工業も行う。長崎本線が通じる。2005年３月小城郡小城町，三日月町，芦刈町と合併し市制，小城市となる。13.26km²。１万684人（2003）。
