[Intermediate species]
A classification unique to Japan that includes a range of horses from light to heavy, and their uses include riding, draught, and drag. (1) Anglo-Norman: A half-blood horse native to Normandy, France. It was the horse most commonly imported to Japan after the Meiji period, and made a great contribution to the improvement of horse breeds. (2) Hackney: Native to England.
