? -715(Spirit Turtle 1) A Man'yo poet from the end of Fujiwara-kyo to the early Nara period. The fifth son of Emperor Tenmu. His mother was Oonu no Iratsume, the daughter of Soga no Akae. He became the governor of the Daijokan in 705 (Keiun 2). In January 715, he was promoted to the rank of Ippon, and died in July of the same year. He was probably under 40 years old. He left behind four tanka poems in the Man'yoshu. He was in love with his half-sister, Princess Tajima, and wrote a lamentative poem hoping for her grave after her death, "Furu yuki wa ahanina furiso yonabari no ikaino oka no kan kara makuni" (Volume 2).
