A town in Sera County in central-eastern Hiroshima Prefecture. It occupies part of the Kibi Plateau, with the main settlement along National Route 184, which runs north-south through the center of the town, and the Fukuen Line and Onomichi Expressway pass through the east. It is an agricultural region that mainly produces rice, but also produces vegetables such as bell peppers and pears. In October 2004, Sera-Nishi Town and Kabutoyama Town in Sera County were incorporated, and the town hall became the former Kabutoyama Town Hall. 278.14 km2 . Population 17,549 (2010). 広島県中東部,世羅郡の町。吉備(きび)高原の一部を占め,町域中央を南北に通じる国道184号線に沿い主集落があり,東部に福塩線,尾道自動車道が通じる。米作中心の農業地帯で,ピーマンなどの野菜,ナシも産する。2004年10月世羅郡世羅西町,甲山町を編入し,町役場を旧甲山町役場とした。278.14km2。1万7549人(2010)。
