An ancient powerful clan. In the "Nihon Shoki," the clan's ancestor is Emperor Kōgen's son, Ohiko no Mikoto, while in the "Kojiki," the clan's ancestor is Ohiko no Mikoto's son, Hikoinakosiwake no Mikoto. According to the "Takahashi Ujibun," Iwakamutsukari no Mikoto (Ohiko no Mikoto's grandson) accompanied Emperor Keikō on his tour of the eastern provinces and presented him with dishes of hardfish and clams in Kazusa Province. As a result, he was ordered to serve the emperor as a guest for a long time thereafter, and was given the surname Zen no Omi. There is a similar article in the "Nihon Shoki."
