A facility that collects, preserves, and exhibits materials that show the development and changes of broadcasting. In Japan, the only facility with the name of a broadcasting museum is the NHK Broadcasting Museum in Minato Ward, Tokyo, but the Broadcasting Culture Center of Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) in Senrioka, Suita City, Osaka, can also be considered a kind of broadcasting museum. There are a few museums of this type abroad as well. For example, the literally named Museum of Broadcasting in New York City in the United States eschews the common method of exhibiting broadcasting equipment from the past, and instead creates a library of radio and television broadcast programs that can be viewed freely by individuals.
