Kagawa clan

...Under the rule of the Hosokawa clan, the shugosho was located in Utazu (currently Utazu Town, Ayauta County), and the Hosokawa clan also took control of Tadotsu (currently Tadotsu Town, Nakatado County), and in the first half of the 15th century, they incorporated Nioura (currently Nio Town, Mitoyo County), a strategic point connecting Bitchu, Bingo, and Toyo, into the direct territory of the shugo, and actively developed the management of the province by controlling key points of inland sea transportation. Prior to this, Kagawa County was divided into two counties, east and west, and Ano County into two counties, north and south, and Sanuki Province had a total of 13 counties, of which the Yasutomi clan ruled the eastern 7 counties and Shodoshima, and the Kagawa clan ruled the western 6 counties as shugodai. The main castle of the Yasutomi clan was Ametaki Castle in Samukawa County, and that of the Kagawa clan was Amagiri Castle in Tado County. Katsuga Castle in Kosai County is also famous as the castle of the powerful local lord, the Kosai clan.

…細川氏の治下，守護所は宇多津（うたつ）(現，綾歌郡宇多津町)におかれ，このほか細川氏は多度津(現，仲多度郡多度津町)を掌握し，さらに15世紀前半ころには備中，備後，東予を結ぶ要衝仁尾浦（におうら）(現，三豊郡仁尾町)を守護直領に編入するなど，内海交通の要所をおさえ積極的な分国経営を展開した。これ以前，香川郡が東西2郡，阿野郡が南北2郡に分かれ，讃岐国は計13郡となっていたが，このうち東7郡と小豆島は安富（やすとみ）氏が，西6郡は香川氏が守護代として支配を行っていた。安富氏の主城は寒川郡の雨滝（あめたき）城，香川氏の主城は多度郡の天霧（あまぎり）城であり，このほか有力国人香西（こうさい）氏の居城として香西郡の勝賀（かつが）城が名高い。…
