Japanese: ホアハオ教 - ホアハオきょう

A religion founded in southern Vietnam. Also known as Hoa Hao (harmony) Buddhism. It was named after the village of Hoa Hao in Chaduk Province, where founder Huynh Phu So (1919-?) was born, but Hoa Hao also represents the religion's ideals of philanthropy, equality, unity, and cooperation. It was founded in May 1939. It was mainly engaged in prophecy and healing activities, and in a short time gained many followers among the peasant class of the Mekong Delta. It later took over the right of succession of the Buddhist sect "Baoshan Qixiang" that was widely practiced throughout the southern region, and solidified its religious authority and foundation of faith.

ベトナム南部で創基された宗教の一つ。ホアハオ(和好)仏教ともいう。教祖ヒン･フ･ソーHuynh Phu So(1919‐？)の出生地チャドック省ホアハオHoa Hao村にちなんでこう命名されたが，ホアハオは博愛，平等，団結，協調を説く同宗教の理念をも表している。立教は1939年5月。主として予言と治病活動に従い，短期間のうちにメコン･デルタの農民層の間に多数の信者を獲得した。のち南部一帯に広く行われていた仏教宗派〈宝山奇香〉派の継承権を引き継ぎ，宗教的な権威と信仰の基盤をゆるぎないものとした。
