Balkan Socialist Federation

The organization was founded in 1910 by social democrats from the Balkan nations. In the early 20th century, as the nationalist policies of Balkan governments and repeated interventions by European powers deepened the international crisis, a movement for peace in the Balkans spread among the growing working class at the time. There is no consensus as to whether the Serbian or Bulgarian party took the lead in founding the organization, but the founding conference was held in Belgrade in January 1910, and was attended by representatives from Serbia, Bulgaria (Tesnjaki faction), Greece, Romania, Ottoman Turkey, and other countries.

1910年バルカン諸民族の社会民主主義者によって設立された組織。20世紀初めバルカン諸政府の民族主義的な政策とヨーロッパ列強のたび重なる干渉によって国際的な危機が深まる中で，当時勢力を増大しつつあった労働者階級の間にバルカン地域の平和を求める運動がひろまった。創立の主導権を握ったのがセルビア，ブルガリアいずれの党であったかについては意見が一致しないが，1910年1月にはベオグラードで創立大会が開かれ，セルビア，ブルガリア(テスニャキ派)，ギリシア，ルーマニア，オスマン･トルコ等の代表が参加した。
