Japanese: 安里屋ゆんた - あさどやゆんた

A folk song from Taketomi, Taketomi-cho, Yaeyama-gun, Okinawa Prefecture. Long ago, Mezashishu, who had been newly appointed to govern Taketomi Island, searched for the most beautiful woman in the village to be his hostess, and chose Kuyama, the daughter of Asatoya in Hazama village, but Kuyama refused because she was engaged. Disgraced, Mezashishu went straight to the neighboring village of Nakasuji and wooed the beautiful Ishikema. Inspired by Kuyama's courage and the arrogant village official Mezashishu's panic, the villagers immediately wrote a song about the story.

沖縄県八重山郡竹富町字竹富に伝わる民謡。昔，竹富島を治めるため新しく赴任した目差主（めざししゆ）は賄（まかない）女には村一番の美女をと探しまわり，玻座真（はざま）村の安里屋の娘クヤマに白羽の矢を立てたが，クヤマは婚約者がいることを理由に断る。面目をなくした目差主はその足で隣村の仲筋（なかすじ）に行き，美女のイシケマをくどき落とした。クヤマの勇気と，傲慢な村役人の目差主のろうばいぶりを筋に，村人たちがさっそく歌にした。
