Henry I - Henry
Norman King of England (reigned 1100-1135). Son of William I. Defeated his brother Robert and annexed Normandy. He expanded royal power by establishing an assizes and a financial office, and resolved church issues by compromising with Archbishop Anselm of Canterbury, but after his death, a great civil war broke out over the succession to the throne.
