An educational corporation (approved in 1951) with its headquarters in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, that places emphasis on educating women. It originated as Kyoritsu Women's Vocational School, established in 1886 to train women in specialized professions and help them become financially independent. In 1928 it became Kyoritsu Women's College. In 1936, Kyoritsu Girls' Senior High School was added. Currently, it operates a kindergarten, girls' junior high school, girls' high school, women's junior college, the four-year Kyoritsu Women's University, and a graduate school.
