Pentecost

The word comes from the Greek meaning "50th," and refers to the 50th day after the celebration of Passover in the Old Testament. Later, it also came to refer to the Feast of Pentecost, which commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Acts 2:1 and following.
