Japanese: ウェルシュ･コーギー[種]（英語表記）Welsh corgi

A domestic dog that originated in England. There are two types, the Cardigan and the Pembroke, which are completely different breeds. Both are small, with a long body and short legs, standing 25-30 cm tall and weighing 7-11 kg. The former has rounded ears and a long, feathery tail, while the latter has slightly pointed ears and a very short, stubby tail. The coat colors are fox brown, sable (reddish brown and white), fawn (brown), and black and tan (brownish brown spots on a black background), but the former produces blue merle dogs with black spots, while the latter never produces dogs of this coat color.

原産地がイギリスの家庭犬。カーディガンCardiganとペンブロークPembrokeの2種類があり，全く別犬種である。いずれも体高25～30cm，体重7～11kgの小型種で，長胴･短足のイヌである。前者は耳の先が円みを帯び，羽毛状の長い尾を有するが，後者の耳はややとがり，尾は切株状で著しく短いのが相違点である。毛色はきつね色，セーブル(赤褐色と白色)，ファウン(茶色)，ブラック･タン(黒地に茶褐色斑)など共通であるが，前者では黒斑を混じえたブルー･マール(大理石色)のイヌが生まれるが，後者ではこの毛色のイヌが生まれることはけっしてない。
