A French non-ferrous metals company. It is the world's fourth largest producer of aluminum. Its headquarters are in Paris. Its predecessor was Alais, Froges et Camargue (Cie. de produits chimique et éléctrométallurgiques Alais, Froges et Camargue), which was founded in 1855 and became the world's first company to successfully commercialize aluminum smelting using the electrolytic method in 1859.
