French harpsichordist. He studied piano, harpsichord and music theory at the Paris Conservatory, and made his debut on French national radio in 1949. He subsequently became active as a soloist and chamber musician, contributing to the rediscovery and revival of baroque music. He is known for his solid performance style that incorporates a modern sensibility, and his skillful realization of basso continuo. He organized the Paris Baroque Ensemble, whose members included the flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal (1922- ), and gave performances around the country in the 1960s and 1970s.

フランスのハープシコード奏者。パリ音楽院でピアノ,ハープシコード,音楽理論を学び,1949年フランス国営放送でデビュー。その後独奏者,室内楽奏者として活躍,バロック音楽の再認識,再興に寄与した。堅実な中に現代感覚を盛り込んだ演奏様式,通奏低音の巧みなリアライゼーションに定評があり,フルート奏者ランパルJean‐Pierre Rampal(1922‐ )をはじめ優れた奏者をメンバーとしたパリ・バロック合奏団を組織し,60~70年代に各地で公演。
