Japanese: 平均太陽日 - へいきんたいようじつ（英語表記）mean solar day

The time from one mean solar noon to the next noon. It also refers to the period of time that begins at noon, i.e. noon, and ends at the next noon, and also refers to the date based on that. Because the sun moves directly along the ecliptic, the mean solar day is longer than the sidereal day, with 1 mean solar day = 1.002738 sidereal days. This length is the basis for determining the length of time.
