Lake Usoriyama
Lake Osorezan is a crater lake (caldera lake) of Mount Osore, located in the center of the Shimokita Peninsula in northern Aomori Prefecture. It has an area of ​​2.52 km2 , a circumference of 12.5 km, and a maximum depth of 54 m. The water is blue-green and highly acidic, and the only fish to live in it are the Japanese dace. There are many hot springs and sulfur vents on the north shore, as well as the sacred site of Mount Osore Bodaiji Temple. It is part of the Shimokita Peninsula Quasi-National Park.
