Separatism - separatism

Japanese: 分離主義 - ぶんりしゅぎ（英語表記）separatism

The idea and movement of a political, religious or ethnic group to separate or become independent from a larger group. In this case, the entity seeking separation is usually an ethnic minority or regional group. It arises in situations of exploitation, oppression and discrimination when unequal political, economic and cultural relations exist between the majority ruling group and the minority ruled group, or between the ruling ethnic group and the minority ethnic or immigrant group, within a country. In other words, the aim is the liberation of one's own group from a system of oppression and discrimination.

ある政治的･宗教的･民族的集団がより大規模なそれらの集団から分離･独立しようとする考え，およびその運動。この場合，分離しようとする主体は少数民族や地域集団であることが一般である。それは，一国内にあって多数支配者集団と少数被支配者集団，支配民族と少数民族･移民集団それぞれの間で不平等な政治･経済･文化関係を構成している場合，搾取･抑圧･差別されている状況のなかで生じる。すなわち，抑圧･差別体系からの自己集団の解放が目的である。
