Acute circulatory failure

...The word shock is widely used and familiar in everyday life, such as in expressions such as "shocking incidents" and "oil shocks," but there are still many unknown aspects of it medically, and many challenges remain in its treatment. The medical definition of shock is, in a word, acute circulatory failure, which is "a state in which the flow of blood in tissues is poor, causing a lack of oxygen required by the entire body, and the function of important organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys is impaired."
