[Died] May 24, 1994. Oxford. British novelist and poet. After graduating from Oxford University, he became famous for his novel Hurry on Down (1953), and was counted among the "Angry Young Men." His other works include The Living World of Shakespeare (64), A House for a Truth (72), and other critical works, as well as Weep Before God (61). He was Professor of Poetry at Oxford University from 1973 to 1978.

[Died] June 11, 1979, Los Angeles. American film actor. Entered the film industry in 1929, and rose to stardom in Stagecoach in 1939. Since then, he has worked on many classic westerns and action films, including Fort Apache (1948), The Yellow Ribbon (1949), and The Quiet Man (1956), in collaboration with director John Ford. A leading star in American cinema. Won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Gritty Pursuit (1969). He also directed The Green Berets (1968).

Died December 15, 1796. Presque Isle, Pennsylvania. American soldier. He fought bravely in various places during the Revolutionary War, and after independence, he defeated the Northwest Indian Confederacy at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794, and acquired about 150,000 ^km2 of land around the mouth of the Chicago River. He continued to lead the war against the Indians.
