The god of fire. Also known as Homusubi. In the Kojiki, he is called Kagutsuchi. Izanami died in a fire after giving birth to this god. 火の神。火産霊(ほむすび)神とも。《古事記》では迦具土神と記す。伊弉冉(いざなみ)尊はこの神を産んで焼死。伊弉諾(いざなぎ)尊が怒ってこれを切ると，雷神，大山祇神など多くの神が化生したという。
