A chicken coop with a closed, insulated structure without windows, which blocks out natural light and allows for effective artificial lighting, is primarily intended to regulate the day length that affects chicken growth and egg laying. It is also called a windowless chicken coop. The temperature and humidity inside the coop are regulated by mechanical ventilation. By increasing the amount of ventilation, it is possible to raise more chickens in the same area, and it is also valued for reducing pollution to the surrounding area caused by the sounds and odors of chickens.
