Aso Korezumi - Asokorezumi

A military commander during the Northern and Southern Court period. Aso Daigūji. Commonly known as Era Kojiro. It is unclear whether he was the son of Korekage or Korekuni. He was Koretoki's son-in-law. Since the Genkō Incident (1331), he has fought on the side of the Southern Court. He helped Kikuchi Takemitsu become head of the Kikuchi family, and after Prince Kanenaga left for the west, he gained his trust and was active in southern Higo, including Mashiki and Yatsushiro. In 1345 (Kokoku 6, Sadawa 1), he was granted the titles of Tomochiyama and Yabeyama in addition to the position of Jito (land steward) of Moritomi-no-sho, and in 1348 (Shohei 3, Sadawa 4), he was appointed as Gon no Kami of Chikugo, and the following year, 1349, he was appointed as Rimushiki of Hyuga Province, and in 1361 (Shohei 16, Koan 1), he was appointed as Daigūji (chief priest). However, his experience in battles on the side of the Southern Court inevitably put him at odds with the Kikuchi clan, and he was not able to make the transition to Shugo Daimyo, and he died of illness in Shohei 19 (Teiji 3) still dissatisfied.

南北朝期の武将。阿蘇大宮司。通称恵良(えら)小次郎。惟景あるいは惟国の子というが不分明。惟時の女婿。元弘(げんこう)の変（1331）以来終始南朝方として参戦。菊池武光(きくちたけみつ)の菊池家惣領(そうりょう)就任を助け、懐良親王西下後はその信を得て益城(ましき)、八代(やつしろ)など肥後南部で活躍。1345年（興国6・貞和1）には守富荘(もりとみのしょう)地頭職などに加え砥用山(ともちやま)、矢部山(やべやま)を安堵(あんど)され、1348年（正平3・貞和4）には筑後権守(ちくごごんのかみ)、翌1349年には日向国吏務職(ひゅうがのくにりむしき)に補せられ、1361年（正平16・康安1）には大宮司に就任した。しかし南朝方にたっての歴戦も、菊池氏の下風にたたざるをえず、守護大名化の方向には結び付かず、不満を残しつつ正平(しょうへい)19年（貞治3）に病没した。
