...the script used by the Tuareg people of the Sahara Desert, which appears in rock paintings and engravings from the "Camel Period" (after 200 BCE). It is derived from the preceding Saharan alphabet, alfabet Saharien Ancien. Differences from the ancient Saharan alphabet include the weighting (doubling) of letters by 90-degree or 180-degree turns, and the addition of additional symbols (vertical lines, dots, secondary deformations of the edges of letters).
